Winchester 1873 3rd Model Saddle Ring Carbine in the much sought after .44 calibre. Very nice original working condition through out. The American walnut butt stock and forearm are both very good and unmarred. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped with the two-line legend “WINCHESTER’S-REPEATING-ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CT./KING’S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29.1866. OCTOBER 16. 1860.” The bore is bright with some light scattered frosting and prominent rifling. Rifle has an overall pleasing grey patina to the metal finish.
This is an outstanding original example of a Winchester 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine. Very nicely maintained that would make a fine addition to any Winchester collection of lever action rifles.
